Chapter 945 of the Codified Ordinances addresses the specific duties of the Shade Tree Commission.
The commission’s general responsibilities are to provide leadership in the selection and establishment of trees planted in the public right-of-way. It is also a liaison to Village residents in the proper care, maintenance and removal of trees within Village rights-of-way.
A tree was planted in memory of Darrell Honigfort on Arbor Day 2009. Darrell was a respected Village employee, Firefighter and member of the Shade Tree Commission for many years.
